Winnie and Vera Handmade Gifts for You and Your Home
Hi there, I’m Louise. I often get asked if I’m Winnie or Vera but they were my grandmothers, the inspiration behind my brand name. I have sewn for as long as I can remember, it keeps me both busy and sane!
I love sewing and I love gorgeous fabrics, which means I find them very hard to resist. I am always drawn to those bright, eye catching and sometimes quirky prints such as fun animal prints, pretty florals, or seaside themed fabrics to go alongside the spots, stripes, geometrics and tartans which contrast so well. I know I am not alone when I say that I cannot reveal the size of my fabric stash!
After making a few things for myself and then gifts for family and friends, I was encouraged to start selling. I love combining different fabric choices together to make fun, beautiful and useful items such as bags, cushions, aprons, doorstops, notebooks and other unique gifts. I try to only buy small amounts of fabric to keep life interesting and my products unusual. I love the freedom of “What shall I make today?” Many items are one-off’s and cannot be duplicated by me. However, some fabrics such as Bees and Llamas have proved to be so popular, I’ve been duty bound to buy more!
